Zondag 19 augustus met zijn vijven in de Benz vertrokken naar Oostenrijk. De hele heenreis van 1000km in de hitte ging vlekkenloos, maar eenmaal aangekomen zag ik dit.

Bij het bijvullen kwam ik erachter dat er 3 liter was uitgelopen en er meteen via de waterpomp weer uitliep naarmate ik het bijvulde.... Meteen met de wegenwacht gebeld, die mij vertelde dat mijn aanvraag voor wegenwacht Europa nooit was bevestigd en ik geen recht op hulp had. (Had wel het pasje, was kennelijk alleen voor NL. Wist ik veel...). Gelukkig waren we al bij het huisje, dus kunnen we voor nu het OV gebruiken. Bij de Mercedes dealer hier toch maar een nieuwe waterpomp besteld(DUUR ), omdat er voor de rest niks zit. Om de kosten te drukken ga ik het zelf proberen te monteren. Er is immers in de motorruimte van de 230 veel ruimte. Gereedschap is een uitdaging. In principe zou ik het kunnen redden met het standaard originele gereedschapssetje, maar het wordt een hoop gedoe. Ik houd jullie op de hoogte.

Misschien kun je bij Aldi Lidle of bouwmarkt een doppensetje kopen, dan sta je niet zo te martelen.

Misschien ook wel wat gereedschap lenen bij een dorpsgarage, ook wel eens gedaan. Tegen sluitingstijd ff vragen, als ze het maar weer terug hebben wanneer ze open gaan. TIP ?

De Aldi had helaas niks. De dichtstbijzijnde bouwmarkt is ver weg en niet met het OV bereikbaar. Het dorp waar ik nu zit heeft geen garage en in de omgeving zitten alleen maar dealers. Ik ga morgen eerst eens kijken hoever ik kom. Heb net de pomp opgehaald. Bedankt voor de Tips!!

Bij een kleine ijzerzaak loctite gevonden en soort vloeibare pakking. Dit gebruikt om de plek van het kapotte boutje te dichten. Thuis maar uitboren. Hierna een testritje waarbij ik nog moest ontluchten. Hij is nu na zo'n 5 uur kloten weer goed. We gaan het beleven

Het ging zo prima en ik had geen zin om ook de dynamo nog weer los te halen. Nu weet ik zeker dat het weer goed zit.

De v-snaar staat maximaal uitgesteld, de snaar die je gebruikt is aan de lange kant, of hij staat erg strak.
In het eerste geval zou ik een kortere snaar overwegen, in het tweede geval zou ik de snaar wat losser zetten om de waterpomp en dynamolagers te sparen.

Nou, nou, en dit allemaal alleen met het boordgereedschap ? V-snaar inderdaad wel erg lang of te strak ?¿ Is dit niet de oorzaak van het pomp probleem?

Boordgereedschap en een klein doppensetje van de Spar die ik nog vond. Met genoeg geduld gaat het. Als ik thuis kom zal ik eens naar die V-snaar kijken. Pomp moet er toch weer af. Denk niet dat het de oorzaak is van het probleem. Hij staat naar mijn mening niet te strak. Het was waarschijnlijk nog de eerste pomp en ik heb ook al bijna 20.000km gereden nu zonder problemen. Ik denk dat de pomp gewoon door ouderdom en de langdurige werking tijdens de heenrit de geest heeft gegeven.

Is een heel mooie prestatie om dit op te lossen met beperkte middelen

Jammer dat er een boutje is afgebroken, gebeurt vaak helaas.

Op mijn Om621 zat ook een huis met een afgebroken boutje erin. Met een boutje minder dicht het ook wel af maar dat was mijn eer te na. Uitboren is vaak moeilijk door het zachtere aluminium. Ik zou het eerst proberen met kruipolie, dan opwarmen met een gasbrander en met een griptang het stompje proberen eruit te draaien.

Ik heb uiteindelijk een ander pomphuis gekocht en gemonteerd. het uitboren was niet goed gelukt. Wel het opnieuw boren van 6 gaten met draad langs de originele gaten. Toch wilde ik dat zo niet op mijn motor bouwen.

Goed dat het onderweg gelukt is. Ik neem op verre reizen altijd mijn gereedschapskist mee en een extra V-snaar en waterpomp.

Ik had wel een tang uit het setje, maar die gleed eroverheen. Het stompje is echt heel klein. Een nieuw pomphuis is eventueel een optie. Moet ik thuis maar eens naar kijken. Ik heb er nog over gedacht een gereedschapskist, maar ik had niet gedacht dat zoiets kon gebeuren. Nu weet ik dus dat dat kan en ik ga ook niet meer zonder op reis . Maargoed het is zo ook weer een verhaal voor de boeken. Je neemt altijd een waterpomp mee??? Die dingen gaan toch niet aan de lopende band stuk?

bij mijn oude W115/114 5 cilinder diesel ligt al jaren een waterpomp in de kofferbak met een tube kopervet en vloeibare pakking

maar toch mooi dat het gelukt is.
