Het reservelampje in mijn dashboard werkt niet wanneer het wijzertje tussen de laatste 2 streepjes komt van de tankinhoudsweergave. Het lampje werkt wel degelijk, wanneer ik het contact aanzet, dus dat is niet het probleem. Hoe kan ik het testen? Of gaat het enkel branden als het wijzertje voorbij het laatste streepje is?

Makkelijkst is ff te testen door de vlotter ff uit de tank te halen en kijk of ie het dan doet

Vaak willen de contacten wel eens vergommen

Bij mij brandt het pas als de meter op "nul" staat. Hier staat bij mij een "R".
Toen ik de auto kocht begon het al te branden als de meter op het de onderste kwart stond, maar na vaak premium benzine tanken werkt de meter blijkbaar nauwkeuriger. Deze reinigende brandstof heeft blijkbaar de vlotter gereinigd waardoor de meter weer nauwkeuriger wordt. Het heeft wel enige tijd geduurd voordat ik zolang door durfde te rijden voordat het lampje ging branden, een W123 van de eerste serie heeft namelijk geen controle functie. De enige controle is zover leeg rijden tot het gaat branden.
Het lampje brand pas als er minder dan 15 liter in de tank zit, als je nooit meer dan 50 liter hebt getankt zal het lampje nooit gebrand hebben.

Hij hoort inderdaad pas te gaan branden bij de R van Reserve. De laatste 15 liter. Dit is bij alle W123's gelijk. Hij hoort echter ook te branden op de contactstand en gaat dan uit als de motor gestart is. Het probleem zit meestal in de vlotter. Die zitten na 30-40 jaar vol met drek of hebben problemen met de contacten. Deze zul je eens moeten uitbouwen en reinigen. In principe is dit een zeer betrouwbaar systeem als het werkt naar behoren.

Om een bizare reden gaat die van mij niet branden bij contact op.
Het lampje werkt wel want ie ging laatst branden toen de tank leeg was. (en is rood van kleur) en toen ie op het 2 de onderste streepje kwam. (De sensor werkt niet zo goed, ik rij veel te weinig met de 280E) )
Nu moet ik wel zeggen dat bij mijn 280E van 1982 serie 2, de linkse module van 1976 is.
Hoe dat kan geen flauw idee want de rest van het klokkenspel klopt wel qua datum.
Er zit ook geen waarschuwing (zoemer) op voor de lichten.
Max, Zit die bij uwe serie 0.5 er wel op?

Dat is inderdaad een vroege. De latere hebben icoontjes i.p.v. een opschrift met letters. Waarschijnlijk toch een keer uitgewisseld omdat er iets stuk was. De serie 0,5 heeft inderdaad geen zoemer voor de verlichting. Ik ben het ook wel eens vergeten

Tja bij deze nog niet omdat ik de ervaring al had van bij een van mijn vorige wagens.
Ik kan je zeggen dat het licht vanzelf is uitgegaan.
En ze deed s'morgens niets meer.
Ben toen maar met vaders W124 naar school gegaan.
Ik vind het wel zijn charme hebben dat oud paneeltje met tekst. Ik laat het lekker zitten

Dat is ook de reden dat het lampje niet brandt bij het contact aanzetten. Dat hadden de eerste serie instrumenten niet, zoals ik hierboven ook al meldde.

Bij mijn 230TE, tweede serie, van januari 82, heb ik wel een lichtzoemer, maar de controle functie van het waarschuwingslampje voor de brandstof reserve werkt niet.
Het lampje zelf waarschuwt wel, zij het vrij laat, zoals hierboven ook is aangegeven. Ook bij mij duurde het vrij lang voordat ik het aandurfde om het uit te proberen, maar weet nu dat het lampje het doet.
Van het waarschuwingslampje voor de remblokken werkt de controle functie wel.
Mag ik nu concluderen dat er een defect in de printplaat zit?

Ook heb ik nog een reserve paneel liggen van 12-78, deze heeft de meters aangeduid met tekst, dus er staat tank, temp en oel bij de meters, en niet zoals later de symbolen.
Bij dit paneel zit er wel een zoemer achterop. Betekent dit dat er bij de serie 0,5 geen zoemer zat, en bij de serie 1 wel?

In 1981 kocht ik bij een dealer een 200D uit 1978, hier zat het originele instructieboekje bij.
Hierin zat een inlegvel over de werking van de licht zoemer. Ik denk dat het rond die tijd is veranderd.
De auto was al anders, maar het (Nederlandse) boekje was nog niet aangepast.

Niet alle veranderingen gebeuren bij een MOPF. Deze 200D had ook nog de grote knopjes in de portieren zitten, om ze te vergrendelen. Mijn huidige 250, ook eerste serie, heeft al de verzonken knopjes.

In Augustus 1976 ging de serie 0,5 over in de 1e serie. Dit viel samen met het uit productie nemen van de /8. Diverse zaken werden toen al veranderd aan de W123, o.a. de zoemer, maar dit was geen facelift. De eerste "echte" facelift was pas in juli 1979, maar het klopt dat men richting de facelift 79 al bepaalde zaken had veranderd. Deze auto's zijn de zogenoemde "Zwischenserie"

Er staat een stempel met 09-78 achterop, jan.
Dat zou een serie 1 zijn.

Toerenteller is zowel serie 0,5 als serie 1. Alhoewel deze niet op de prijslijst bij MB stond tot 1978. men moest deze als toebehoor bestellen via VDO
