Beste mensen,

Vorige week ben ik begonnen met het opknappen van mijn 230E. Ik ga dit stap voor stap doen. Ik heb alle filters en olie vervangen en volgende week ga ik met mijn pa de kleppen stellen. Ik ben nu begonnen met het netjes maken van de voorkant. De voorschermen zijn gedemonteerd. Achter de schermen was gelukkig alles in orde, geen rotte dorpelkoppen of rotte binnenschermen. Heb gelijk alles kaal gemaakt en opnieuw in de verf gezet!

De originele schermen zijn weggerot bij het bevestigingsdelen bij de deuren en bij de bumperbevestigingspunten. deze zijn helaas dus niet meer te redden, dus ik ben van plan om deze te vervangen voor imitatieschermen. ik weet dat deze niet ideaal zijn en dat er nog het een en ander aan gedaan moet worden voordat ze gemonteerd kunnen worden, maar ik heb dit liever dan dat ik een paar 100 euro moet neerleggen voor originele.

Ik heb gelezen op het forum dat de schermen van A&Bparts (staat ook op marktplaats) redelijk goed zijn, heeft iemand hier ervaring mee? Kan iemand mij wat meer vertellen over de kwaliteit van dit scherm en de pasvorm in vergelijking met andere imitatieschermen?

maak eens wat foto's van de voorschermen
misschien zijn ze nog te redden door er stukken van het imitatiescherm aan te lassen

Uit mijn ervaring passen de schermen van Gordon beter dan de schermen van EMBRO. de knipperlicht-uitsparing past beter, de punt vooraan langs de motorkap lijkt beter te passen en de Gordon schermen hebben al een helemaal goed gevormde rand boven het voorwiel (verder omgezet).

Meeste werk is het om de schermen goed te schuren en in de primer te zetten. En dan natuurlijk de naden afkitten en anti-steenslag spuiten aan de binnenzijde.

Die Gordon schermen heb ik gewoon bij mijn automaterialenzaak gehaald (De Turck in Eindhoven).

als de klant geen orginele wil dan neem ik altijd de schermen van van wezel en ik moet zeggen past altijd wel redelijk zonder teveel dinegn te moeten doen verschil met een orgineel zie je wel maar als alles weer 1 geheel is is het niet zo opvallend meer prijsverschil is wel opvallend 2 orgineel is 600 euro en 2 imi 120
wel goed behandelen maar moet je orgineel ook paar foto's van de wagen waar ik nu mee bezig ben
en het is met orgineel net als imi het afhangen is gewoon een priegelwerkje

Hoi ik heb toentertijd ook besloten dat ik er 2 imitatie schermen ging opzetten .
Ik heb er tot de dag van vandaag nog spijt van . De rechter-knipperlicht past niet mooi meer en er zit veel te veel ruimte tussen spatbord en deur . Ik moet er nog een keer een dag bij om te probeeren of de boel nog te stellen is

Die imitatie zijschermen blijven een lastig onderwerp merk ik al.
Ik begin nu zelf steeds meer te twijfelen wat ik moet doen. Ik sprak vandaag met een plaatwerker die wel vaker werkt met de imitatie zijschermen voor de 123 en ik kan jullie vertellen dat er niet veel goeds uit zijn mond kwam.

Zijn de originele schermen overal €300per stuk, of zijn er ook adressen waar dit voor minder kan? Ik las iets over schermen uit California en originele schermen die besteld kunnen worden bij Autoplaat voor €150 per stuk? Iemand ervaring hiermee?

Repareren met imitatie plaatdelen is denk ik ook een optie, maar ik heb hier zelf helaas de middelen en vaardigheden niet voor....

Had je aan de (toch al tweetonige en niet al te zachte...) W123-claxon niet genoeg?!

haha, ja die heb ik er in gezet voor de fun. Meestal ben ik niet van die onzin, maar dit vond ik wel geinig. Beugeltje is zo weer te demonteren, dus ik heb er niets voor hoeven aan te passen aan de wagen.

De claxon is overigens niet aangesloten op het stuur, maar is apart te bedienen met een aparte knop die ik netjes heb weg gewerkt in de wagen. Gewoon een leuk dingetje, waar je ook weer wat extra bekijks mee hebt

De originele schermen zijn natuurlijk altijd een mogelijkheid. Wanneer je imitatie schermen wil gebruiken raad ik Klokkerholm aan. Deze leveren wij overigens via oldtimerbay.com.

Je kan op de W123Club.nl zelf zoeken en zien dat de mensen er erg lovend over zijn. Ook zul je zien dat de plaatdikte gelijk is aan origineel en de pasvorm perfect. Dat kan je over Van Wezel niet zeggen (ook veel over geschreven).
Ik zou zeggen, probeer het eens uit, als het niet goed is kan je het terugsturen.

Wij gebruiken Klokkerholm al jaren en zijn er heel erg tevreden over. Vandaar dat wij het nu zelf ook verkopen.

@Toon: Jij gebruikt toch geen Van Wezel? Dat is beduidend mindere kwaliteit..

Weer bedankt voor iedereen zijn insteek, ik hoop dat ik er bijna uit ben en mijn 123 weer in elkaar kan gaan zetten!

jurgen ik heb een paar keer klokkerholm gehad en ik was dus niet tevreden over de passing daar moest ik nog een hoop aan doen terwijl bij van wezel het eigenlijk altijd past en goed in de coating dan zijn ze ook weer goed voor jaren

Mijn ervaringen met klokkerholm zijn ook niet heel erg zo positief hoor, een jaar of 3-4 terug niet, en recent bij een vriend die ook 'omdat ie iets goeds wilde' klokkerholm speciaal had gekocht uit 'oude' voorraad nota bene ergens ook niet...

Maar ik denk dat het ook heel veel verschilt per batch, je moet ze gewoon zien,plaatwerk is typisch iets wat je niet blind kan kopen. Vroeger was het idee klokkerholm komt uit denemarken maar tegenwoordig is er zelfs hershey chocolade bij de AH uit china...dus maak je geen illusies, het kan overal vandaan komen als het toevallig goedkoop werd aangeboden daar. Bedrijven kopen in bij producenten, leveren specificaties, en maken zelf eigenlijk niet meer...

Niet dat er iets mis is met china, of zuid europa (want daar komt ook aardig wat plaatwerk vandaan net als azie)
maar ik ben erg pro NW-europa ( in ieder geval qua fabriceren van spullen dan ).
Daarnaast heb ik mede daardoor soms -maar niet altijd- liever oud spul dan nieuw, en dat geld dus naast mijn auto's ook voor mijn onderdelen, en koop ik veel liever bij een klein bedrijf met heel goede kwaliteit
zoals bijvoorbeeld ivo van Mercedes only in Hapert dan... elders

Dat is vreemd Toon, je leest over het algemeen dat het precies andersom is.
Dant mensen die bij Euro Autoparts bestelden kwamen meestal terug van Van Wezel, omdat ze daar niet blij mee zijn. Ook bij anderen lees ik veelal hetzelfde. Liever Klokkerholm dan Van Wezel.

Hebben ze jou toen niet een ander stuk plaatwerk geleverd misschien?


Waar het gefabriceerd wordt maakt op zich niet uit, de Apple waar ik op type komt ook uit China.
Het gaat om de kwaliteitscontrole en standaarden.

@Simon: Geef mij ander maar aan als je plaatwerk nodig hebt. Dan kan ik je een stuk plaatwerk leveren en dan mag jij zeggen hoe het past. Dat een idee?
