Mijn 300D uit 1977 is nog uitgerust met het oude type gloeibougie's. Die vind ik wat onbetrouwbaar want als er 1 stuk is werkt het hele systeem niet meer. Afgezien van de lange voorgloeitijd.
Nu heb ik begrepen dat je ze kunt ombouwen naar het nieuwere type.
Ik heb al even gesnuffeld en kwam op internet de onderstaande link tegen. Is het echt zo simpel?
Als ik die zo lees zou het niet meer inhouden dan andere gloeibougie's er in, bedrading aanpassen tussen die bougie's en gaan...
Of zie ik iets over het hoofd?

Zelf heb ik ook nog een traag gloei systeem met gloeiers in serie ipv parallel. Werkt zoals het hoort maat is niet snel en minder efficient.

Heb ook al zitten lezen en denken om het om te bouwen naar stift type gloeiers. Een trekstarter heeft in principe geen gloei relais omdat je met de trekstarter handmatig de gloeitijd bepaald. Er zit wel een thermoswitch voor het gloeilampje.

Je zult de bekabeling zo moeten aanpassen dat elke stif gloeier 12 volt krijgt, deze dus parallel zetten.

Bij een trekstarter zit er erg weinig bekabeling wat te makrn heeft met het gloeisysteem. Op het schutbord naast de rembekrachtiger is het meeste te vinden. Als ik weer in NL ben kan ik eventueel uitgebreider reageren.

Hallo Semrick,ik heb zelf ook een 77er diesel gehad en heb ook van die stiften er in gehad en werkt perfect,je hoeft dan maar een paar sec te gloeien en dan kun je starten, je moet wel een dikke stroomdraad van elke gloeistift naar de volgende gloeistift maken, meer hoef je niet te doen,als je een kompleet setje gloeistiften koopt dan vraag je ook direcht naar de originele stroomdraadkabeltjes.

Pas mijn voorgloeisysteem vervangen voor snelgloeiers.
Dit met een samengesteld pakketje inclusief handleiding van mercedessource.
Niet de goedkoopste, maar het werkt goed!
En het is goed afgezekerd.

Bedankt voor de tips. Als ik jullie reactie's zo lees dan kan het het dus inderdaad vrij eenvoudig zoals op internet staat weergegeven. Die van mij is al geen trekstarter meer. Maar dat maakt denk ik niet zo heel veel uit. Ik zal eens kijken wat er allemaal aan electronica (relais) zit voor het gloeien. En als ik aan het sleutelen ga zal ik hier verslag doen van de vorderingen.

Als je een 300D rijdt moet je sowiso geen haast hebben.
De gloeitijd maakt me niet zo veel uit. Maar de andere gloeiers zijn gewoon betrouwbaarder...

Daar heb jij dan weer gelijk in Govert. En de bedrading tussen de gloeiers is ook niet kapot te krijgen... Maar ik bedoelde eigenlijk meer....als er 1 stuk is werkt meteen het hele systeem niet meer (goed).

Ik heb de nieuwe gloeiers gisteren gemonteerd.
En ik moet zeggen...Het werkt perfect. Zelfs het lampje op het dashboard werkt gewoon nog.
Prima upgrade dus. Wel het oude materiaal bewaard. Kan ik hem indien nodig altijd weer origineel maken.

Hoi Semrick,

In de 220D heb ik ook snelgloeiers zitten. Toch was er daar laatst een van kapot.
Ik vermoed door te lang doorgloeien. Met de trekknop kan dat. (Ik zat met iemand te praten en dan wacht je wel eens met er doorheen starten )

Nu in de 200D W110 heb ik de oude gloeispiralen nog zitten. De stalen doorverbinders vind ik ook gewoon wel stoer.
Als er een stuk is doet niets het meer , dat klopt, maar een goede diesel start toch wel (als het niet net midden in de winter is). Qua snelheid moet ik zeggen dat ik de oude draden ook best snel vindt.

Fijn dat het werkt in elk geval!
