Met kouder weer in aantocht moest ik denken aan de brandstof voorverwarmer zoals deze op W124 diesels zit. Hiervoor heb ik meerdere W124 diesels gehad en vond dit een mooi systeem. Nu zit er op een W123 geen voorverwarmer, de koude diesel gaat zo uit de tank naar de brandstofpomp.

Ik kwam ooit foto's tegen van mensen die hun rubberen brandstofleiding langs de radiateurslag hadden gelegd. Mooier zou het zijn om een soort platenwisselaartje in te bouwen.

Zijn er wellicht mensen die ervaring hebben met zoiets of een idee hebben hoeveel zo'n voorverwarmer zou kunnen schelen. Warmere diesel vernevelt beter en lijkt me toch voor een betere verbranding zorgen. Tevens heeft de pomp het wat minder zwaar lijkt me.

Daarnaast lijkt het mij mooi om voor korte ritjes de motor voor te verwarmen met een spiraal in de koelvloeistof. Zoiets lijkt te bestaan voor de OM61x motoren. Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee? Er bestaan zowel verwarmers voor de koelvloeistof als een (goedkopere) flap die je op de carterpan kan plakken.

Voor die paar graden vorst in NL kun je niet echt winter noemen dieseltje moet ook met een paar graden onder nul probleemloos starten anders is er iets niet in orde lijkt me.
Ik vind de W123 met de goede thermostaat juist snel opwarmen nog sneller als de meeste moderne auto's

Starten doet'ie zeker goed, daar gaat 't niet echt om. Ik woon in stedelijk gebied en maak niet altijd lange ritten. Het idee is meer om met weinig middelen veel slijtage te voorkomen wat toch vooral optreed na een koude start.

Die 200D moet toch wel aan de bak en dan is'ie inderdaad vlot warm

Ik denk dat het weinig toevoegt opwarmen van de motor olie duurt het langste misschien werkt het zelfs wel in het nadeel omdat de thermostaat sneller open gaat -> meer koeling terwijl de motor/olie temperatuur nog koud is
dan zou het in theorie zelfs langer duren voordat je olie op bedrijf temperatuur is.
carterpan-> olie verwarmen lijkt me een betere optie.

Ik heb ooit een motorverwarming ingebouwd. Was daar heel tevreden over.

Bouw dan een standkacheltje in.

Om de brandstof op te warmen kun je een warmtewisselaar inbouwen die de brandstof opwarmd via het koelsysteem. Je kunt dan zon 70 graden bereiken. Het is natuurlijk wel traag en werkt pas wanneer de motor op temperatuur is. Dit wordt veel toegepast in systemen om op plantaardige olie te rijden, zoek hier maar eens op. (je hebt er een nodig met 4 slang aansluitingen)

Ik dacht dat ik zon warmtewisselaar had maar kan hem niet vinden. Ik heb ooit gewerkt bij een bedrijf dat ze maakte en dacht dat ik er ook ooit een voor mezelf had gemaakt. Wel een paar lucht-oliekoelers heb ik nog gevonden.

je korte stukjes langer maken met rijden, maar idd, ooit een 300D gezien die had een verwarming in het koelsysteem. auto kwam uit zweden ofzo, gewoon met een stekker. Gelijk warme lucht uit je kachel.

heb nog een nieuwe MANN diesel heizer set liggen. nieuw. heb er zelf al 1 in mijn 240D. helpt niet meteen voor de start, maar bij koude verwarmt deze set je diesel toevoer naar de motor. lijkt of met koude de motor ietsje lekkerder loopt. niet wetenschappelijk door mij onderzocht en vermoedelijk zullen er heel veel verschillende meningen over zijn..
gewoon leuk.

Bedankt allemaal voor de reacties. Een standkachel op de motorbrandstof zelf is inderdaad het mooiste maar ook het meest ingrijpend en kostbaar. Je kunt voor net geen 100 euro al voorverwarmers kopen die je met T stukjes in tussen de slangen naar de kachel zet en zo de hele boel om warmt. Ik heb nog eens goed thuis gekeken en een kabel over de stoep (openbaar) leggen is wellicht toch niet zo'n goed idee.

In de familie zit wel een loodgieters, dus ik ga toch eens rustig op zoek naar een platenwisselaar zoals Math schreef om de brandstof wat voor te verwarmen. Ik moet alleen nog even uitvogelen hoe ik die aan het koelsysteem aan zal sluiten.. Tevens zal deze dan ook zomers de brandstof extra verwarmen, geen idee of dit geen nadelen oplevert.

waarom zou je een ingewikkeld systeem inbouwen dat via de verwarming van je motor loopt enz...als de MANN dieselheitzer hetzelfde resultaat geeft. werkt ook wanneer nodig; als de buitentemperatuur onder de 7 graden ofzo komt.
