Afgelopen augustus in Millingen aan de Rijn een W115 opgehaald met een nagenoeg nieuwe motor, carrosserie technisch een drama, maar dat is bekend van deze jongens, de bekende plekken die krokant kunnen zijn, waren dat dan ook allemaal !

Besloten om hem helemaal te gaan restaureren, lassen kan ik niet, maar demonteren en opbouwen wel.

Afspraken gemaakt met mijn lokale garage v.w.b. het lassen, uit ervaring weet ik dat de persoon in kwestie heel mooi kan lassen ( ik heb nog een W123 coupé) en gelijk begonnen met demonteren, alles eruit en de vakken doosjes en vliering van de schuur gevuld met het complete interieur en carrosserie delen, de Karcher in de lege doos en alles goed schoon gespoten.

Stoeltje en stuurtje laten zitten en voor de vorm de veiligheidsriem, verlichting en gril ( 2 boutjes) toen om direct weggebracht naar Zaamslag, dat was 5 november
Er wordt de afgelopen maanden tussen de andere werkzaamheden gelast en het is verder een triest gezicht
Komende maart zou het lassen klaar moeten zijnen kan er verder aan gewerkt worden, denk aan vertinnen, stralen etc
Inmiddels heb ik via diverse sites, Marktplaats, Ebay, 2e Hands be een klein magazijn nieuwe en gebruikte vervangings onderdelen liggen

De interieur onderdelen zijn het moeilijkst en het duurst, sommige delen komen uit Turkije en verder !
Ik heb natuurlijk foto's gemaakt en zal proberen er een compleet relaas van te maken

Omdat er nu eenmaal mensen zijn die alles beter weten : alleen de 6 cilinders waren W114, alle 4 cilinders W115. Ook de benzine.

Coupe's zijn ook altijd W114 ongeacht hoeveel cilinders ze hebben.

en een 5 cilinder is een W115/114 zit er tussen in

als ik onderdelen bij de dealer haal en het chassis nummer op geef komt het er uit dat het een W115/114 is.

Daar heb je een punt Wiebren, nooit bij stilgestaan dat de coupe alleen in 6 cil werd gemaakt.

Hallo allemaal,
Leuk dat er zo weer het een en ander los gemaakt over de W114/W115
Het blijft natuurlijk altijd weer boeien zo'n verkrijgbare Merc uit de vorige eeuw.
Je moet er wel het een en ander voor over hebben en dat is vooral geld en tijd en dat in die volgorde
Zelf denk ik dat het een goede investering is, de bank geeft geen rente en bij zo'n goed gerestaureerde auto, komt er iedere dag een euro bij
Laatst zag ik er een op Ebay De met een riante vraagprijs van 12.900 euro, zag er geweldig uit, precies zoals ik hem ook wil hebben
Ik heb een foto gevonden van mijn type en zo moet hij worden, smullen!
En jawel ik heb een chromen automaat bak, Bart
