De w180 verkocht en ook de W110, dus eigenlijk moet er weer wat anders komen.
Dus heb ik een W108 uit '69 gekocht.
Morgen ga ik hem halen.

Het verhaaltje.
De auto komt uit Bornerbroek onder Almelo.
Gekocht van een restauranthouder en liefhebber van oude auto's.
Hij heeft er een stuk of tien. Verschillende merken, maar ook een W111 Coupé in restauratie.
Deze W108 reed ie dagelijks maar niet met pekel.
Weinig tot geen historie, maar wel een taxatierapport van 2014.
De toestand van de auto is redelijk te noemen. Wel hard, en het chroomwerk is erg goed.
Auto is strak en hard, maar heeft hier en daar wat kleine roestplekjes.
Alles werkt naar behoren.
In het verleden is de auto overgespoten. Helaas is men toen te snel over de spuitplamuur gegaan (niet goed droog vermoedelijk) met als resultaat dat er bobbeltjes in de lak verschijnen. Het meeste op de liggende delen. In de toekomst weer opnieuw spuiten dus.
Ook het leren interieur moet worden opgekapt of vervangen.
Eerst ga ik er gewoon in rijden en al doende een lijstje maken wat ik allemaal wil doen, en in welke volgorde.
De W202 gaat tijdelijk in de stalling en komt er in sept/okt weer uit.
Dan gaat deze naar binnen en kan het echte werk beginnen.
Een rijdend project dus, maar wel een goed uitgangspunt. Deze auto is een investering zeker waard :thumbup:

Over een jaar of 20 electromotor inbouwen!? want Benzine is er dan misschien niet meer, of mag niet meer verkocht worden.

(het doet mij sterk denken aan een goudkleurige 300SEL 3,5 uit mijn jonge jaren ...)

Dat is toch ook stom toeval. Vorige week is deze gespot in Dordrecht. (kreeg hem toegestuurd van een liefhebber) Volgens mij is alleen het kenteken anders. Veel plezier met je nieuwe aanwinst.

Is een prachtige wagen, maar ik kan maar niet wennen (misschien wel wenen) om die Amerikaanse kermislampen
Wat mooi en "gedestineerd" is moet je niet nog mooier proberen te maken.

Wel Henk ik ben het niet eens met je, maar ik ben wel van mening dat iedereen recht heeft op zijn mening.

De wagen vind IK een plaatje, kleur,lampen, velgen het geheel.

Deze lampen geven hem een slanker uiterlijk, de kroonkurken een kwieker (nu mijn afkeer voor wieldoppen is gekend).

Eigenlijk best wel jammer, want het rijdt als een koning
Maar ja, je kunt niet alles houden. Daar heb ik de ruimte niet voor.

De W108 is verkocht en heeft een goed nieuw baasje gevonden.
Hier kan dus een slotje op.
