Zo wat een bewogen week weer. De hele week bezig geweest met de W123 en amper gereden

Eerst problemen met de gasinstallatie, wat na wegbrengen naar een specialist een draadje van de gasklep die los was. Ook hebben ze gelijk even de verdamper afgesteld en gesmeerd.

Daarna wou ik de remvloeistof gaan vernieuwen en ontluchten, omdat hij erg slecht remt. Maar rechts voor brak het ontluchtingsnippel af. Een poging gedaan tot uitdraaien met torx en uitboren mocht niet baten.. Dus een nieuwe klauw opgehaald. Toen erop gezet en alles ontlucht en doorlaten lopen met verse remvloeistof, maar remt nog steeds niet naar wens. Volgende week maar even kijken of er misschien meer aan de hand is.

Ook dacht ik even de startmotor te demonteren, omdat ik toch op de remklauw moest wachten maar daar ging wel even tijd in zitten. De bendix kwam er af en toe niet uit en werd steeds erger. Dus even schoongemaakt en opgepoetst, maar ook dat mocht niet baten. Sneller draaien doet ie wel, maar de bendix heeft er geen zin in. Dus van de week ook deze maar laten reviseren. Wat een klote klus om dat ding van een M110 af te halen. Was er gewoon een dag mee bezig.. Maar vandaag heb ik hem weer afgehaald in minder dan een uur, kennis is macht zullen we maar zeggen.

Weer veel tegenslagen en weinig kunnen genieten. Hopen dat het hier bij blijft! Eerst maar weer een weekje werken!

Heb je wel precies dezelfde Remklauw?
Zijn alle klauwen goed gangbaar? Anders beter reviseren en allemaal tegelijk. Ook meteen nieuwe remblokken dan natuurlijk. Nieuwe schijven en dan moet ie top remmen! (mark soest biedt ze hier aan op het forum, origineel Ate!)

Jaa ik heb precies dezelfde klauw maar dan nieuw. Was ook een dure jongen. Ook heb ik vorig jaar alles goed gangbaar gemaakt en er toen nieuwe blokken in gestoken daar ligt het denk ik niet aan.

Waarop baseer je je opmerking dat hij niet goed remt? Wat doet hij wel, wat doet hij niet? Dalijk ben je van alles aan het vervangen wat totaal geen nut heeft, zonde van de tijd en het geld.

Nee ik rijd er nu niet mee. Mijn Benz staat lekker binnen en komt alleen met mooi weer naar buiten. Je moet het rempendaal erg diep indrukken en dan nog kracht zettem om hem tot stilstand te krijgen. Dus vandaar. En het is een stuk beter geweest, vorig jaar.

Lek in de bekrachtiger misschien ?

Dan zou je niet perse diep moeten intrappen, wel zwaarder.

Achterkant van de schijven kun je vaak wel zien welke niet goed mee remt. En anders kom je al gauw bij de hoofdremcilinder uit.

Misschien is er met ontluchten wat mis gegaan?
Ik gebruik hiervoor een easybleed van Gunson, en ben daar erg over te spreken. Je kunt het ontluchten dan in je eentje doen.
Is het geen lucht wat je plaagt, zal de hoofdremcilinder de volgende verdachte zijn, zoals Jantje al aangeeft.

De bekrachtiger kun je controleren door eerst een 5-6 keer het rempedaal in te trappen, dan is het vacuum uit de bekrachtiger. Dan trap je het rempedaal in en houd het vast, start de motor, als het goed is voel je nu het pedaal zakken doordat er weer vacuum in de bekrachtiger komt. Is de bekrachtiger lek, zal er geen vacuum worden opgebouwt en blijft het pedaal op -ongeveer- gelijke hoogte.

Bedankt voor alle nutige reacties ik ga van de week er weer mee bezig. Ook even samen met een maat van mij er naar kijken die is tenslotte bijna automonteur.

Vandaag weer verder gekeken naar de remmen. Het is wel beter dan dat het was. Ik zou er mee kunnen leven in iedergeval. We hebben hem nog is onlucht en alle rem blokken eruit gehaald en de cupjes bekeken en gesmeerd. Alles werkte naar behoren. Ook hebben we de vacuum bekrachtiger getest en die werkt ook nog goed.

Nu is het zo dat hij opzich goed remt maar voordat er iets gebeurd dan ben je al wel 5 cm het rempendaal aan het intrappen. Ik weet niet of dat hoord bij een oude Benz? Ook blijft mijn rode remlampje nog branden. Er zit nieuwe remvloeistof in en de blokken etc zijn nog in goede staat.

Als je stevig remt en op de pedaal blijft drukken, blijft hij die druk wel vasthouden, of zakt je pedaal zoetjes aan naar de bodem?
De hoofdremcilinder, zit geschroefd tegen de vacuum bekrachtiger. Als je die weg neemt, zie je een pen in de hrcilinder waar de pedaal tegen aan drukt. Ik heb er wel eens 1 gehad waar daar teveel speling op zat, (maar ook wel eens 1 gehad waar daar te weinig speling op zat zodat hij op de rem bleef staan). Die speling is allemaal extra vrije slag. Dacht dat het 0,5mm moest zijn maar weet het niet zeker, de juiste waarde staat in de wis.

Ik weet niet wat je gewend bent, maar een strakke sportauto rem is het ook niet. Het moet comfortabel en veilig aanvoelen, beetje doortrappen moet hij toch wel goed vertragen. Niet dat je het gevoel hebt dat je met alle kracht remt en de bocht niet dreigt te halen. Dan is er echt iets niet goed.

Nee je verliest zeker geen remdruk, en als je hem echt diep en hard intrapt blokkeren de wielen ook gewoon. Ik heb niet het idee dat ik te hard moet remmen om hem tot stilstand te krijgen. Alleen wat ik dan nog wel vreemd vind is dat mijn remlampje rood blijft branden.

En brandde dat lampje voorheen ook? Je schrijft er pas in je laatste bericht over.

Is het niet je parkeerremlampje?

Ja die brande wel vaker. Soms was ie een tijdje uit en soms brandde die altijd. Zal de sensor wel zijn. En nee echt van mn remmen. Die van mn handrem zit er naast.

Weer even een nieuwe post, ondertussen dynamo problemen gehad en weer opgelost en ook een hele grote uitgave verder. Ik heb mijn bestuurdersstoel in Nuenen bij Kees van Hoof laten repareren die had nog een laatste stukje van mijn pullman stof liggen. Ik heb de instap kant helemaal laten vernieuwen en de stoel laten opvullen. De stoel zit weer heerlijk en ondanks dat je ziet dat de stof nieuw is ben ik zeer tevreden. Het was een grote uitgave ook omdat het helemaal in Brabant zit en ik in het Noorden zit een aardige rit maar goed we kunnen er weer even tegenaan. \

Ondanks dat mijn uitlaat dicht is blijft het kriebelen om er een RVS sport uitlaat onder te laten zitten. Een grote uitgave maar het lijkt mij het dubbel en dwars waard. Niet overdreven veel geluid maar wel een lekkere roffel en twee mooie uitstekende pijpjes. Ik ga binnen kort een afspraak maken en als het is gebeurd dan zien jullie het wel!

Ook heb ik mijn SLK 230 cabrio te koop staan als iemand interesse heeft hij staat op facebook en autoscout te koop voor 3900 euro. Het is een ontzettend leuke auto, maar ik gebruik hem veelste weinig.. Dus zonde! Ben van plan om meer ritten te doen met de W123 mijn facebook; Koen Kreder

Binnenkort wat fotos van oa de auto en de uitlaat hehe

We rijden nog steeds, maar wel een dure uitgave verder De RVS uitlaat is er onder gekomen en ben erg blij met het resultaat. Een mooi Mercedes 6 cilinder geluid komt eruit! zeker niet overdreven, maar net iets harder dan dat het was.

De dag na de RVS uitlaat kreeg ik een belletje van een maatje dat de 300SL club aankwam in Giethoorn, dus ook gelijk die kant even op gegaan en een paar uur lang allemaal 300SL's bewonderd er stonden een stuk of 7 Gullwing's tussen geweldig om te zien. En ze werden allemaal gebruikt waarvoor ze bedoeld zijn!

Gisteren nog een leuke oldtimerdag gehad in Diever waar van alles te bewonderen was en met een leuke tourtocht, ik wacht de foto's nog af. Ik heb weer veel mensen rond de W123 gehad met verhalen over vroeger en mensen die zich afvroegen wat mij drijft om in zo'n oude Benz te rijden.

Verder nog steeds lekker aan het meelezen en geen problemen met de W123 coupe, ze heeft sinds kort ook een autodoek dus ze staat lekker binnen onder het doek

Ieder zijn ding, maar die uitlaat is een mooi stukje werk, ook lijkt rvs me een goede investering, stalen uitlaten willen nog wel eens verteren bij weinig gebruik.

Zo even wat bijwerken van de afgelopen tijd, ik heb veel mee gelezen maar weinig gepost.

De Mercedes is ondertussen voorzien van 2 nieuw gebruikte deurvangers die ik bij Wiebren heb opgehaald. De oude deden helemaal niks meer glee gewoon in elkaar over.. Maar dat werkt nu weer mooi!

En net weer 4 dagen bezig geweest met nieuwe schokdempers voor en de onderste draagarm rubbers vernieuwd en een nieuwe en wat dunnere rubber blokken voor op de veren, want hij stond net iets wat te hoog.. Maar poeh dat viel niet mee. tenminste de veer had ik er zo onderuit auto op blokken krik onder de draagarm bouten los schokdemper los en laten zakken, en toen pakte ik hem er zo onderweg. Toen had ik er nog niet aangedacht hoe ik ze eronder ging zetten maar ik dacht dat lukt me dan ook wel, maar dat viel vies tegen.

Ik kreeg ze op geen manier meer ertussen. Dus bij steronderdelen een binnen veer spanner gekocht. Helaas paste die net niet door het gat boven dus iets moeten vijlen en toen was het eigenlijk zo gebeurd. Dus voor de volgende keer zie ik er niet tegenop.

Verder ook de grill weer opnieuw zwart gespoten en het plastic achter de koplampglazen ook zwart gemaakt dat was zag er ook niet meer mooi uit. De neus is nu een mooi geheel!

Volgende week nog even de laatste dingen opnieuw spuiten onder andere de dorpels enz. En dan de auto laten uitlijnen en voor de apk laten gaan. En ohja, heb laatst ook nog vier nieuwe bridgestones op mijn rial velgen laten zetten ziet er ook weer goed uit.

De volgende keer zal ik wat fotos plaatsen en lekker blijven hobbyen!
