Is die staalplamuur een soort epoxy-plamuur met speciale filler? Welk merk heb je hiervoor gebruikt?
(Ik zelf moet mijn voorkant ook renoveren en wilde alles in de Acraton OT en epoxyplamuur zetten)

Welke staalplamuur is dat?

Het heet alsi plamuur. Welk merk zou ik na moeten kijken. In ieder geval iets professioneels, komt via de spuiter. Is een lood/tin vervanger. Wordt zo hard dat je er zelfs schroefdraad in kan tappen. Maakt het verwerken ook moeilijker, als het te ver uitgehard is moet je het slijpen i.p.v. schuren

Zoiets is het inderdaad. Kan het blik niet meer vinden, die was leeg, maar volgens mij was het van 3M of Teroson. Is inderdaad een alsi 12 plamuur. Is perfect voor de paar zichtstukjes. Aan de onderkant komt er toch weer een dikke laag kit overheen, dus daar maakt het niet uit.

Deze Benz kan zich geen beter eigenaar toewensen. Grondig en kundig werk wat mij betreft, goed bezig!

Voorbouw is nu helemaal klaar, alleen nog een klein stukje in de verf zetten nu.

Prachtig....

De voorbouw is nu klaar, dus daar kunnen we binnenkort weer gaan opbouwen. Ondertussen het schutbord. Nog diverse lasspetters moeten wegslijpen die er uit de fabriek opgekomen zijn. Is met schuren nogal onhandig zulke kleine scherpe uitstulpingen.

Mooie vorderingen Max! Zo grappig om de tijdlijn te lezen. Van koop, tot beetje opknappen en verkopen naar beter restaureren en uiteindelijk bijna nieuw maken.

Het ziet er allemaal weer extreem grondig uit, hoe jullie dit aanpakken. Dit noem ik nou restaureren!

Zelf ben ik op veel kleinere schaal met een soortgelijke klus bezig; een stuk blank maken en lassen. Ik merk daarbij dat tussen de naden (waar twee plaatdelen overlappen) nog wel eens roest kan zitten. Ik kom er niet echt goed tussen met de draadborstel. Hoe pakken jullie dat aan?

Dat is inderdaad een probleem. Tussen elke overlapping/lasnaad zal je roest vinden als je deze uit elkaar haalt. Dit betekent als je echt 100% wilt restaureren zul je elk plaatdeel los moeten boren en de hele auto opnieuw moeten opbouwen. Dit gaat ook voor ons te ver. Wij hebben een deel losgehaald, met name waar we veel roest verwachtten of waar het plaatwerk dun was, maar de rest laten we gewoon zitten. We proberen met een puntig freesje er zo goed mogelijk in te komen en vervolgens laten we een roestomvormer in de naad lopen. Wij gebruiken die van de Action, Spectrum. Wordt gevuld bij een bekend merk. Busje met deze temperaturen eerst even op de kachel leggen, wordt hij nog dunner. Dan wordt de auto gespoten met 2k epoxy grondverf, dan de lak en als de auto eenmaal helemaal gespoten is laten we de naden nog weer vollopen met een heldere tectyl of was. Je zou ook kunnen overwegen de overlappingen met kit dicht te smeren, zoals bij de latere bouwjaren, dat is eigenlijk nog beter, maar wij willen de originele look behouden.

Met het schutbord klaar hebben we besloten toch ook de cardanastunnel meteen mee te pakken. We zijn er nu toch. Daarvoor moest het versnellingspookmechanisme wijken, voor het spuiten is het ook beter als het kachelhuis er uit is, dus deze heb ik uitgebouwd en zal ik ook meteen reviseren, zit geen schuim meer op de kleppen, allemaal vergaan. Dus dat wordt nog een paar uur schoonmaak een plakwerk. Ruitenwissermechaniek is ook gedemonteerd, dus we kunnen nu goed bij de paravaan, waarvan we het deksel waarschijnlijk toch in zijn geheel gaan vernieuwen.

Haha, precies wat ik dacht....nu we er toch mee bezig zijn, pakken we xyz ook maar mee .
