Om mijn kilometerteller te reviseren heb ik mijn klokkenhuis van de W123 280TE uitgebouwd. Door de hier aanwezige topics was dit een eenvoudig klusje. Het volgende probleem ben ik echter hier na veelvuldig zoeken nog niet tegengekomen. Hopelijk heeft toch iemand het meegemaakt en een mogelijke oplossing gevonden.

Nadat de revisie van de kilometerteller (Het slippende asje wat opgeruwd) naar tevredenheid was afgerond, wilde ik het klokkenhuis weer op zijn plek brengen.

Het probleem is echter dat hij niet ver genoeg naar binnen gaat. aan de onderkant zit de bak er ver genoeg in, maar aan de bovenkant steekt de tellerbak bijna een halve centimeter buiten de dashboardrand. Je ziet dan zeg maar als je er bovenop kijkt nog een stuk van de glasplaat zitten.

Ik heb geprobeerd door steeds terug te duwen en iets te kantelen naar boven en naar beneden om hem er volledig in te laten zakken maar hij stuikt ergens op, of komt aan de zijkant knel te zitten. Uiteindelijk heb ik het ook zonder kabels eraan geprobeerd omdat ik dacht dat die misschien ergens knel zaten, maar met alle kabels uit de weg blijft het klokkenhuis ook hangen. Als ik met een schuifmaat meet tot aan de metalen rand, dan zou er genoeg ruimte moeten zijn om de bak geheel naar binnen te laten zakken.

Een aantal jaar terug heb ik het klokkenhuis er ook wel eens uitgehad en toen zonder problemen weer volledig in kunnen bouwen.

Mijn idee is nu om de rand van het dashboard met zuurvrije vaseline in te smeren, zodat de bak makkelijker glijdt, maar dat werkt alleen als de blokkade aan de zijkant zou zitten.

Wellicht dat een van de andere clubleden hier nog een gouden tip heeft.

Vaseline heeft niet geholpen. Het lijkt wel of de vorm van het dashboard is veranderd, misschien door de warmte... Ik krijg hem er niet in...

Er kan weinig mis gaan met het terug plaatsen, het is geen speciale slag of zo.
Ik had hier ook last van in mijn USA.
Ik heb het dashboard vervangen ivm droogte scheuren, in die ik nu heb past het klokkenhuis perfect en valt onder de bovenrand.

Dank voor je reactie! Mijn dashboard is nog prachtig, dus ga hem nog maar niet omruilen. In principe moet de bak toch met de plastic rand tegen de metalen rand in het dashboard vallen? Als er niets is wat hem vanachter tegenhoudt, dan zou dus aan de bovenkant het schuimrubber van het dashboard zijn uitgezet waardoor de bak gaat knellen. Het is alleen haast niet voor te stellen dat je hier niet doorheen kunt duwen. Zo stijf is dat dashboard toch ook niet. Ik heb ook nog gedacht dat hij hing op de kabel van de pulsgever omdat die vrij hoog zit, maar als ik met mijn hand erachter voel, dan zit daar nog ruimte. Misschien moet ik de bovenkant van het dashboard verwarmen met een föhn?
Het is zo jammer dat je niet kan zien op welke plaats het precies spaak loopt. Anders zou je daar aan de binnenkant wat weg kunnen duwen of desnoods snijden...
Nou ja morgen maar weer eens met een frisse blik verder kijken.

Heb dat ook gehad na het inbouwen van mijn klok met toerenteller
Bleek de km kabel te zijn.
Niet goed genoeg terug geduwd.
Motorkap open en de kabel bij het schutboard rustig iets naar mij toe getrokken.
Met de nadruk op rustig.
Voor mij was toen het probleem opgelost.

Bedankt voor je reactie Mart. Ik heb het al geprobeerd met alle kabels eraf en volledig aan de kant getrokken. Dan wil de tellerbak er nog steeds niet volledig in. Wat ik nu ga proberen is de bak erin te zetten zonder de klokken. Als hij er dan in gaat, zit de blokkade aan de achterkant.

Hoy. Er kan toch geen blokkade achter zitte ? Volgens mij ben je gewoon iets té voorzichtig. Door de rubber spannen ze sowieso wat hoor. Ik krijg de mijne er met moeite uit dus... Maar van blokkade kan geen sprake zijn. Het gat is groot genoeg. Gewoon gelijkmatig duwen op de zijkanten en floept er zo in.

Even wat foto's ter verduidelijking. Ik heb alle klokken er nu even uit gehaald om beter te kunnen voelen / zien waar het nou precies knelt. Het lijkt erop dat het in de rondingen aan de bovenkant misgaat.

Wellicht kan iemand een foto maken van zijn of haar bovenkant dashboard, dat ik een idee krijg hoe ver het er nou precies in zou moeten.

In reactie op Bart200D, ik heb echt best onvoorzichtig gedaan tot lelijke kraakgeluiden van de plexiglas plaat aan toe, maar hij geeft geen krimp.

Hoi Hans, dank voor je bericht! Ik ben er vanmorgen weer zoet mee geweest, maar krijg t niet voor elkaar. Ik heb het idee dat het dashboard aan de bovenkant in de rondingen naar de zijkant toe dikker is geworde door de zon. Als ik de bak erin zet dan sluit ie onder al mooi aan, maar snapt er boven niet in. Hij veert als het ware steeds een beetje terug tegen de bolling van het dashboard. Als ik erg hard duw aan de beide bovenkanten dan gaat het glas erg kraken, dus dan ben ik bang dat t breekt. Ik heb al geprobeerd om met een föhn het dashboard te verwarmen maar dat is nog niet gelukt helaas.

Ik stuur je zometeen een PB.

Ik had precies het zelfde met mn vorige dash, was geen kwestie van een kabel maar meer vervorming.
Het lukt ook niet om eerst boven er onder te krijgen en dan onder.
op dit moment loopt ie bij mij er ook maar net in.

Er zit wat staal in en foam dus je zou zeggen dat moet niet vervormen.

Sorry ik weet even geen oplossing.

Mark, bedankt voor t meedenken. Dit sterkt me in mijn vermoeden dat er inderdaad sprake is van vervorming. Wellicht dat een industriele föhn nog helpt...

Probeer eerst de bovenkant op zijn plaats te duwen en dan de onderkant. Heb de indruk dat het onderste gedeelte nu al te diep zit.
