Hallo,

Even een kort vraagje, in mijn W123 zit nu een houten stuur en ik zou deze graag willen vervangen door een leder origineel exemplaar. Nu staat er in de buurt een stuur van een W126 te koop, weten jullie ook of deze ook past in de W123 of is de naaf anders?

Mocht het niet passen, misschien heeft iemand van jullie nog een stuur liggen die hij kwijt wil voor een redelijke prijs?

Als ik me niet vergis, heeft de vroege W123 een dikkere naaf als de latere.
De latere naaf is gelijk aan de W126.
Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid past het W126 stuur niet in jouw auto.

Wat Richard zegt klopt inderdaad. In 1979, bijna gelijk met de lancering van de W126, kwam de eerste facelift, waarmee de W123 een ander stuur kreeg. De eerste serie sturen zijn allemaal identiek en niet van leder. Zijn wel hetzelfde als de laatste serie /8 en W116 stuurwielen. Eventueel hebben wij nog wel een stuur liggen.

Volgens mij hebben alle W123 dezelfde naaf en past ook het W126 stuur (deze zat ook al in de serie 2 van de W123 vanaf 1979).

De W115 had ook met het veiligheids 4 spaaks stuur een kleinere naaf. De W116 had deze kleine naaf ook tot 1976 en daarna dezelfde naaf als de W123 (en dus een ander stuur met grotere naaf).

Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik het ook niet meer precies weet. De latere types hebben het stuur geloof ik met een verzonken inbusbout vastzitten in plaats van een moer. Dan heb je ook nog het kleinere stuur van de W201/124 die ook past volgens mij.

Mijn vader wilde vroeger altijd dat nieuwere gladde stuur in zijn 1978 240D. Ik weet niet meer of dat uiteindelijk gelukt is destijds. Ik kan me wel iets herinneren dat kleinere W201/124 in zijn W123 te hebben gezien uiteindelijk.

Ik heb hier helaas geen nieuwer stuur meer bij de hand, alleen een W115/116 stuur met de kleine naaf.

Ik denk dat je het wel kan monteren maar dat het niet ideaal is/niet ervoor gemaakt is. De W124 sturen kun je inderdaad zonder problemen in de W123 van de 2de en 3de serie plaatsen.
