Ja Jurgen, behoorlijk in mijn nopjes. Overigens vanavond weer in de Trouwkoets gereden (een 230TE) en dat is wel een heel erg andere auto. je merkt het verschil van 46 PK extra, 100 kg minder in het vooronder, en als je gas geeft bij minder dan 2000 toeren gebeurt er tenminste wat, en niet alleen maar een hoop lawaai en getril. En ik ben ook tot de conclusie gekomen dat de stoelen van de 300TD snel een opknapbeurt nodig hebben, die van de Trouwkoets zitten veel beter.
Over het verbruik: na 664 km kon ik weer 54 liter in de tank persen, dat is 1:12,3. De verklaring zoek ik voorlopig in de lagere temperaturen en een wellicht iets vlottere rijstijl (ik word overmoedig...).
Verder ontdekt dat het lager van de koppeling zo nu en dan flink rammelt. Het zou best kunnen dat dit lager verantwoordelijk is voor de 'schurende geluiden' bij de lage middentoeren in 3e en 4e versnelling. Auto trekt verder een beetje naar rechts, voorbanden iets te hard en achterbanden iets te zacht opgepompt. op de sticker op de tankklap staat dat voor 2,0 bar moet worden aangehouden, en achter 2,2 tot 2,7, afhankelijk van de belading. Ik vind die 2.0 voor wel wat weinig. Wat is jullie mening?

De banden van mijn 300TD heb ik voor op 2,2 en achter op 2,4 bar staan. Verder vind ik je verbruik van 1:12,3 in deze tijd nog steeds zeer goed, zeker als je een 4 bak hebt en het originele differentieel. 1:12,8 heb ik eenmaal gehaald op een volle tank met constante snelheid leeggereden. In de winter haal ik net iets minder als 1: 10 en in de zomer gemiddeld 1:11.

Mark, het is een 5-bak, en voor zover ik kan beoordelen met het originele differentieel. Rijstijl is rustig optrekken en overal de maximaal toegestane snelheid rijden. 130 op de teller is 123 (bravo) in het echt.

Hoi Casper,

Dan maakt een 5-bak toch wel een behoorlijk verschil, 1:13 is wel heel goed voor een 300D. De mijne doet altijd 1:10,5/11, stadsverkeer of lange afstanden met 140km/u, maakt niks uit. Maar dat is een turbo en automaat, en die gebruiken altijd wat meer.
Verder als je snel het gas loslaat, hoor je dan een flinke bonk in de aandrijflijn? Dit duidt op speling in het dif, cardanas of versnellingsbak, wat ook herrie kan veroorzaken. Verder een veel voorkomende oorzaak is het tussenlager, het rubber waar dit lager in hangt is dan gescheurd of hard geworden. En de versnellingsbak en cardan olie eens verwisselen kan ook nooit kwaad als je niet weet wanneer dit voor het laatst gedaan is.
Wat bandenspanning betreft, bij 2 bar staan de voorbanden behoorlijk zacht, en dat voel je in bochten. Ik doe er een kleine 3 bar in, rijdt veel strakker, en moet nog zuiniger rijden ook, alleen merk je dat haast niet.

5 bakken hebben als nadeel dat deze iets luidruchtiger zijn dan de andere.
Zeker als je ermee in lage toeren rijdt kunnen die wel rammelen. (heb ik toch en die zit er nog maar 30.000km onder)
Maar het rijdt zalig op de autosnelweg

Update

Inmiddels 3 tanks leeggereden. De laatse 2 tanks gingen met een gemiddeld verbruik van 1:12,3. Kilometerteller heeft nauwelijks afwijking (snelheidmeter: 130 is 123 op de GPS) dus de verbduiksberekening lijkt betrouwbaar.

Over het zagende geluid uit de aandrijflijn bij de lagere middentoeren: Ik denk dat dat een vreselijk rammelend lager van de drukgroep is. Als ik bij stationair draaien de koppeling abrupt laat opkomen dan hoor een een vreselijk rammelend geluid. Als ik de koppeling rustig laat opkomen hoor ik niets.

Vanmorgen bij een invoegactie voor het eerst zo snel mogelijk opgetrokken. Dat viel mij helemaal niet tegen, tor trekt als een lier.

Gisteren middag een noodstop op de snelweg moeten maken. Bij de scheiding tussen A12 en A20 onder het Gouwe Aquaduct gebeuren vaak ongelukken doordat veel mensen te laat invoegen richting A20. Ik heb daar inmiddels 4 forse botsingen zien gebeuren. De noodstop leidde kort tot het blokkeren van de voorwielen. Als je tijdens zo'n noodstop niet ontkoppelt dan gaat de aandrijflijn behoorlijk protesteren in de voorm van trillen en bonken. Wellicht eens kijken naar de staat van het tussenlager en de hardyschijven.

De auto trekt een beetje naar rechts en ik vind om niet heel erg stabiel rechtuit. Het laatste zou best kunnen komen door de toegepaste banden (Matador).

Bij plotseling remmen merk je ook het gewicht in het vooronder..
Je verbruik ziet er echt niet slecht uit, dik in orde hoor. Bandendruk pas ik zelf hoger toe, zeker met die moderne sloffen. Ik gebruik wel altijd merk-banden, zet ze vlot op 2,7 voor en 2,9 achter. Stuurt lichter, en rolt lichter. Zolang ze netjes slijten is er niks aan de hand. Kan best zijn dat dat zware gewicht van je motor op slechte banden een belangrijke rol speelt in je rechte lijn.

Vandaag bij de plaatselijke Euromaster langs geweest voor een schroef in één van de Matadors. Advies was om ze te vervangen. Dot code is '059'

dot code 059? daar zal nog wel een driehoekje achterstaan, vanaf 2000 staan er vier cijfers in.

Verbruik van deze auto was al laag, maar na de laatste vakantie heb ik per tankbeurt niet slechter gereden dan 1:13. En roetmeting was bij de laatste APK geen probleem.
Beeld is van het begin van de vakantie nabij de brug bij Millau tijdens een lange stijging. Koeling van een OM617 is adequaat, maar bij langdurig 100% belasten kom je toch boven de 100 graden.
Sinds deze foto van begin juli al weer 7000 km gereden, nu bijna op 400.000 km. Het is niet bekend of dat de werkelijke stand van de auto is. De multimeter is in ieder geval niet origineel voor deze serie 3 auto.

Of rijdt deze 988 km en is de tank dan nog bijna halfvol? Onze turbo verbrandt ongeveer 1/10,5 hoe we ook rijden.
Maar op de snelweg hoor ik wel eens iemand zeggen dat we geen haast hebben...

En is de brug de moeite, we hebben nog vakantie tegoed en dat lijkt me een omweg (1150km en terug) waard...

Lang hier niet geweest. Na meer de 150.000 kilometers, waarin deze auto ons nooit in de steek heeft gelaten, is hij vandaag verkocht aan de volgende eigenaar.
Ik heb er 4 jaar lang elke dag in gereden. De eerste 2 jaar bij elkaar bijna 90.000 km. We zijn er in totaal 8 keer mee op vakantie geweest. Afgelopen zomer op 1 dag de Telegraph, de Calibier en de Gandon gedaan met Zambezi aan de trekhaak, 5 inzittenden en alle zooi. Wat een geweldige auto!
Ik had gehoopt deze auto zelf een mooie oude dag te kunnen geven, maar de tand des tijds en vooral het huidige belastingregime hebben daar een stokje voor gestoken.

Arie, hartelijk dank voor alle hulp die ik van je heb gekregen bij het onderhoud, de laswerkzaamheden, APK klaar maken en noem maar op!
