Beste allemaal,

Ik heb een W123 230 uit 1977. Na een aantal klusjes gedaan te hebben aan de auto ben ik er nu aan toe het volgende probleem op te lossen:
Wanneer ik het knipperlicht op rechtsaf heb staan springt de handel niet automatisch terug naar neutraal als ik de bocht uit kom. Wanneer ik de handel op linksaf heb staan en een rotonde neem en dus eerst een stukje naar rechts stuur springt hij meteen al terug naar het midden.
Nu heb ik bij andere auto's wel eens gehad dat de nok voor het terugspringen niet goed stond, maar bij de Mercedes zie ik die nok niet als ik het stuur los heb. Hij heeft geen losse ring met nok zo te zien.
Kan iemand mij uitleggen waar de nok in de Mercedes zit? Of denken jullie aan een ander probleem?

De nok zit op de stuuras en niet op het stuur. Komt hij ook niet automatisch terug als je verder naar links doordraait? Als de nok "scheef" zit zou hij dat toch op een bepaald moment moeten doen.

Hoe staat je stuur als je het stuurhuis exact in het midden hebt staan?
Mogelijk zit het stuur er scheef/ verdraaid op en is er daarna uitgelijnd, of is het stuurhuis vervangen en is de stuuras er verdraaid op gezet bij monteren?

dat denk ik ook het stuurhuis is een keer los geweest en er toen niet meer op de goeie stand op gezet.
als je de ster die in het midden van het stuur zit eruit haalt dan zie je een kerf in de stuurpen zitten die hoort recht naar boven te wijzen dat staat het stuur goed ten op zichte van de knobbel die op de stuurpen zit waar je knipperlicht hendel op hoort uit te komen.

De kerf zit inderdaad niet in het midden bovenaan maar onderaan iets naar links. De vraag is dan natuurlijk kan ik gewoon de pitmannarm aan het stuurhuis loshalen, de kerf bovenaan zetten en de arm terug zetten?
Of kan ik dan niet meer zoals nu 1,75 x naar links en 1,75x naar rechts draaien vanuit het midden. Ik weet niet of het stuurhuis zelf begrensd is of dat er ergens op de stuurstangen een stop zit.

Nee, dat is niet de manier. Want dan staat het stuurhuis niet meer in de middenstand,en zal de auto naar 1 kant trekken.
Het stuurhuis kun je blokkeren in de middenstand met een m8 fijn boutje met een puntje eraan geslepen. Zie het topic 300D wordt 3.6 AMG.
Het stuurhuis uitbouwen en de stuurstang in de rechtuitstand draaien en het stuurhuis weer inbouwen is de juiste manier, daar is het ook mis gegaan.

de rubber koppeling zit op de stuurstang geklemd aan de ene kant en aan de andere kant zit hij op de ingaande as van het stuurhuis geklemd.
Als je het stuurhuis demonteert en 1 van beide klemmen los haalt, kan je de stuurstang verdraaien t.o.v. de ingaande as van het stuurhuis.

Bedankt voor je volledige reactie! Heb je die bestanden toevallig ook van wat hogere kwaliteit? Ze zijn erg slecht te lezen ook als ik ze download en vergroot...

Nogmaals dank voor de moeite. Het is gelukt. Heb het stuurhuis er trouwens niet af hoeven halen, alleen de klem losgemaakt, opgeschoven, stuuras gedraaid en alles terug gezet.
