Bedankt voor het delen van je ervaring, Bart! Ook de moeite van het proberen waard. Alhoewel ik met de 20W40 misschien liever tot de zomer zou wachten

Ik wist niet dat de 240D een bi-turbo motor had...

De differentieelolie is van de juiste dikte. De motorolie is een zomerolie (maar de huidige winters zijn ook niet meer zo koud).

In de specificatie van de olie staat ook niet dat de motor persé een turbo moet hebben.
Vandaar deze keuze.

Hoi Ron,

In je differentieel moet zogenaamde Hypoid olie (of EP = Extreme pressure). Ik zie dat er niet op staan dus ik zou nog even goed nazoeken of deze olie geschikt is.

Ik zie GL5 op het blik staan, dat is een specificatie voor gebruik in hypoide vertandingen die onder extreme pressure werken, inclusief schokbelastingen. Volgens mij zit je daarmee goed voor gebruik in het diff.
Wil je het hele jaar door rijden, zou een 80W90 of zelfs een 75W90 wellicht een betere keuze zijn, omdat deze wat minder stroperig zijn bij koude omstandigheden.
Dat gezegd hebbende, onze winters zijn niet meer zo koud als vroeger, het aantal pk’s wat de 240D loslaat op de achteras is ook te overzien, ik zou het gebruiken als ik in jou schoenen stond :)

Voorschrift voor de achteras is SAE90 of 85W90.

80W90 en 75W90 zijn een stuk dunner op de bedrijfstemperatuur (meestal circa 60ºC)
