op 3:50, rijdt hij 210km/h op de teller, wordt hij alsnog op het gemak voorbijgestoken door een audi... :-p

In de tijd dat die W114 nieuw was, waren er praktisch geen andere auto's waren die zo snel en comfortabel konden rijden, met een Porsche of iets in de richting van een supercar kon je misschien wel harder, maar dat was beslist niet zo comfortabel als de W114. Je was eigenlijk koning van de weg met je 280C(E), is nu ook wel anders ja.

M110 is niet traag, maar je hem moet op toeren rijden.
Blijft nog altijd verbazingwekkend dat een “noodoplossing of tussenoplossing” zo goed is gebleken en zo lang gebruikt is geweest.

Mijn eerste 280E (van 1972) was een handgeschakelde. Hier ik heb ik flink mee gereden. Ik reed destijds elke week op en neer over de A61 in Duitsland. Ik had snel in de gaten dat ik de nieuwe BMW 316i nog net de baas kon met de 280E.

Daarna nog eens een donkerblauwe 280E gehad van 1974. Deze wagen had bijna alle opties maar blauw is niet echt mijn kleur. Hij reed wel goed maar voelde op de een of andere manier ook zwaarder aan. Maar 200 km/h haalde hij wel.

Nu gelukkig weer lekker rustig onderweg in de diesel

Ik vind de donkerblauwe juist de mooiste van het rijtje, Math! Helemaal mijn kleur

Wit zie je zo veel, dat blauw heeft ook wel wat. Hij zou vanwege de alu's eigenlijk wat lichtvoetiger moeten aanvoelen. Toch net iets minder onafgeveerd gewicht dan de stalen velgen met klemdeksels er op.

Ja misschien was het ook gewoon omdat hij wat massiever oogde. Vooral het dashboard met die grotere Klima-middenconsole. En al die opties waren misschien ook wel zwaar, sowieso de Automaat, de klima, het electrisch schuifdak, ZV, leer (zwaarder dan stof??).

Of de motor was al wat moe, ik heb later gehoord dat de volgende eigenaar de motor stuk had gereden, maar kan ook zijn omdat hij er geen olie in had gedaan.

Die gele was wel sloom maar reed wel echt als een nieuwe. Was dan ook maar een carburateur versie

Die witte klonk alleen al snel omdat de (kapotte) visco altijd huilde als een straaljager!
