Ik heb deze Benz al weer meer dan 12 jaar. Toen met plan Weekers heb ik de auto geschorst. Eenmaal 40+ de Benz weer goed opgeknapt en zodoende ook het filter en de ATF olie vervangen.

Het punt is dat ik vrijwel zeker weet dat ik vroeger altijd in zijn 2e versnelling weg reed.

Nu is dat altijd in zijn 1e versnelling en die is vrij kort. Opzicht is daar mee te leven, maar wat die ook doet is ongewild terug schakelen naar zijn 1 als ik ongeveer 20 km rij, ook schakelt die ongewenst terug naar zijn 3 als ik zo rond de 80 km rij.

Ik weet dat dit te stellen is met die schakelstang, en voordat ik daar aan gaat stellen wil ik weten:

Deze diesels rijden toch altijd in zijn 2 weg. De 80 pk motoren van voor 1980. iemand die hier iets over kan zeggen?

Het wisselt. Als je bak wordt aangestuurd door de schakelstang, dan rijdt die weg in 2, je hebt ook latere bakken die door vacuüm worden aangestuurd, die rijden weg in 1 (maar staan in 2, door het intrappen van het gaspedaal wordt er teruggeschakeld).

De vacuümaansturing werd toegepast vanaf februari 1979 voor 200D en 240D en vanaf september 1979 voor de 300D. Je kan het herkennen aan het vacuümventiel op de dieselpomp.

Het kan ook zijn dat je Uebergas-schakelaar onder het pedaal blijft hangen.

Ik heb eenzelfde probleem aan mijn W126. Daarvan ga ik de O-ringen op de magneetschakelaar van het Uebergas vervangen, dit kan dit effekt ook veroorzaken.

Ik heb een keer gereden in een 300D met een hangende kickdownschakelaar onder het gaspedaal, toen schakelde de bak pas op de hoogste snelheden per versnelling.

Het probleem met de O-ringen kan wel zulk gedrag veroorzaken. Hij schakelt wel vlot op maar blijft terugschakelen naar de 3 bij rustig rijden.

Mijn W126 schakelt dan zelfs weer op wanneer je gas geeft...

Ik ga zien of het gaat helpen maar dit kan het zijn. Zie ook tekst uit WHB (van de W108 maar toch, staat ook zoiets in het WHB van de W126)

De overgang van stang-aansturing naar vacuüm is wel gekoppeld aan de vermogensstijging, zoals je zei. De 200D en 240D kregen in februari 1979 extra pk's, de 300D in september 1979. Maar goed, een blik in de motorruimte vertelt genoeg. Als er een stang is naar de automaatbak dan heb je het oude type en zou je moeten wegrijden in 2 (behalve bij kickdown). Zo niet, eerst maar kijken of de stang goed staat afgesteld.

Het is met de stang afstelling. nergens een vacuüm te vinden. ( wist ik eigenlijk al ) gewoon de 80 pk ( of iets minder) motor.
Auto moet dus duidelijk in zijn 2 wegrijden, dus deze week eens even prutsen.
