Nu nog uitlijnen, is er iemand die een adres weet in Maastricht of omgeving die ervaring heeft met W123?

Uitlijnen, dat moet iedere goede bandenboer en uitlijnstation kunnen. Een W123 is qua uitlijnen niets bijzonders, zelfs eenvoudig.

Ja dat zou ik ook denken, ik was vandaag bij twee bandenboeren, bij eentje stond de W123 niet in de computer en de andere wilde er niet aan beginnen omdat het volgens hem te moeilijk was.

Vaak zitten de spoorstangen vastgerot als die lang niet vervangen zijn. Daar hebben ze geen zin in. Maar jij hebt nieuwe gemonteerd lees ik. Misschien moet je dat er even bij vermelden.

Met de juiste gegevens zou elke uitlijner dit moeten kunnen. Vooral idd als alles goed gangbaar is. Als de schroeven etc vast zitten wil een slechte uitlijner wel eens gaan sjoemelen door de andere kant meer af te stellen en zo.

Verder hebben deze autos uit mijn ervaring echt wat toespoor nodig om fijn rechtuit te rijden (teminste was dat zo bij mijn W115, weliswaar een andere vooras maar ook achterwielaandrijving...).

Als hij daarna niet fijn rijdt gewoon teruggaan en iets meer toespoor (binnen de toleraties).

Het voordeel van de voorwielophanging onder de W123 is, dat elke hoek is af te stellen. Tegelijk kan dat een nadeel zijn voor een minder ervaren uitlijner. Bij het afstellen van naloop heeft dat ook invloed op het camber, en andersom. Bovendien wordt meestal de wielophanging niet op spanning gezet, zoals MB voorschrijft, dus het resultaat van de uitlijnklus valt nog al eens tegen.

Belangrijk is wel dat het stuurhuis in de middenstand wordt gezet en gehouden, hier is een speciaal boutje voor nodig dat niet iedere uitlijner heeft.

Dat boutje heb ik zelf gemaakt van een bout met fijne draad. Oppassen dat je niet aan het stuur gaat draaien als het erin zit, niet laten afbreken.

Ik heb het gebruikt om een ander stuurhuis in te bouwen (met servo). De uitlijner heeft het niet gebruikt en ik mocht er niet bij blijven in de werkplaats helaas bij het afstellen.

Het onder spanning zetten wat Richard al beschreef zal zijn om alle eventuele speling eruit te drukken en zo te zorgen dat je dan ook nog voldoende toespoor hebt. Bij het rijden worden de wielen dan ook naar buiten gedrukt en moeten dan ook nog de juiste instelling hebben (toespoor dus).
