De Iraanse fabriek Iran Khodro brengt een auto op de markt, die speciaal voor vrouwen is ontworpen. Het voertuig heeft een automatische versnelling, een navigatiesysteem en een alarm dat afgaat wanneer een van de banden leeg is.

Verder wordt de auto uitgerust met audiovisuele apparatuur voor het vermaken van kinderen die meerijden. In de dinsdageditie van de Britse krant The Guardian stelt een directielid van Iran khodro dat de eerste modellen in juni op de markt komen.

Het directielid zegt dat in Iran steeds meer vrouwen de weg op gaan en dat het daarom zinvol is auto's te produceren die voldoen aan de vrouwelijke wensen. De auto's zijn vooralsnog alleen bedoeld voor de binnenlandse markt.
