Ik heb een paar vraagjes over de 300D en meer specifiek de automaat en dagteller

1) De verlichting van de automaat werkt niet of zéér sporadisch. Ik bedoel dan de verlichting om te weten in welke stand je staat. iemand die kan zeggen hoe dit juist in z'n werk gaat ? Lijkt me een kwestie van slecht contact te zijn.

2) Het plastiekje dat over je D,N,... ligt is gescheurd, is dit te vervangen ? Zoja, hoe ?

3) Ik ben nog niet zolang in het bezit van deze auto en dus ook nog niet volledig vertrouwd met automaatbakken maar het valt mij op dat hij laat schakelt naar de 4de versnelling. Zeker bij koude motor kan dit niet erg gezond zijn. Is dit normal of kan je de automaatbak manipuleren door bijvoorbeeld je gas te lossen en dan terug gas te geven ?

3) Mijn kilometerteller: hier is het probleem dat de dagteller steeds stopt bij 29.9 miles: vandaar slaat hij steeds over. iemand een idee wat hier aan te doen ?

Eens proberen om bij het optrekken even de gas te lossen en dan zal de auto wel opschakelen normaal.

Je kan het schakelmoment erg goed bepalen met je rechtervoet. Hoe meer gas, hoe hoger de rpm's voor de bak doorschakeld. Je kan de bak ook nog vroeger of later laten opschakelen/terugschakelen door het stangenstelsel of kabel naar de bak aan te passen. Hoe meer spanning erop, hoe later de bak opschakeld en hoe hoger de rpm's, en vice versa.

Wat die "kleine banden" betreft: ik heb al langer het idee dat de auto een beetje lager wel mooi zou zijn. Deze namiddag toevallig op onderstaande foto gebotst, ook van een amerikaanse uitvoering. De plastiek van de lichten eens opnieuw doen, paar cm's lager en dan staat hij echt wel vet . We weten wat te doen op de volgende Belgendag

Heb toch al een paar W123ers gezien die verlaagd zijn en waarvan de wielen toch nog recht staan vanachter hoor. Hangt er waarschijnlijk vanaf hoe laag en welk soort veren je gebruikt lijkt me.

Maar nu goed, alle gekheid op een stokje heb ik toch nog een euvel(tje) ontdekt met de 300D: toen ik eerder deze week de koffer opendeed, viel me druppels water op links achter, op de plastic beschermingsplaat... Ja inderaad... er komt water binnen en meer dan waarschijnlijk via de achterruitrubber...

Dus mijn vraag: iemand ervaring met het vervangen van de achterruitrubber van de W123 ? Iemand tips of ideetjes ? Of een goed adres, België of Nederland ?

Ps: origineel rubber is een must. De afdichting van de achterruit is een vreselijk ontwerp van MB

ik gebruik die van steronderdelen

Bij mij heeft Toontje het ook gedaan, na wat roesteratie. Tis een KLOTE job.

Staat ergens op de site.

Mijn W123 is licht verlaagd, heeft 1 type stijvere veren eronder. Geen verlagingset dus want die krengen zijn keihard. Rijd nog steeds heel comfortabel en staat niet mis. Gewoon een kwestie van smaak, zie je dit graag gewoon doen dan Bart.

Ps. ik moest in dit geval (AMG uitgevoerd) wel een beetje lachen om de trekhaak..

De veren komen van forumlid Hanco (WWW123 dacht ik) Je hebt de standaard veren, en de heavy duty taxiveren. Daar tussenin zit het type wat ik (en Jan MB280E) onder de W123 hebben zitten. Deze types werden op de W123 politiewagens gemonteerd voor betere wegligging. Comfort blijft hoog maar de auto rolt minder in bochten, je voelt de weg beter. Deze heb ik gemonteerd met de dunste rubbers en daarna ingekort op gevoel, tot de hoogte juist was voor mij. Vooraan 1.5 winding en achteraan 0.75 winding dacht ik. De meningen over veren inkorten is verdeeld. Ik vind dat het technisch perfect kan, geen enkel probleem. Anderen zeggen van niet, die kopen dan maar keiharde verlagingsveren hé, kost evenveel. Ik ga er in elk geval geen discussie over aan.

Volgende stap is een stabilisator van een T vooraan plaatsen (is dikker) en sportschokdempers. Zo gaat het nog minder rollen in de bochten en rijd het iets reactiever.

Bedankt voor de tips. En het "op maat maken" van de veren is inderdaad niet zo'n punt. Ik deed het vroeger bij mijn alfetta's ook. Voor heeft dit type torsiestangen in lengterichting met de carrosserie. Dat betekende uit de vertanding trekken, een tandje of twee draaien en terug duwen. Achter was het inderdaad anderhalve winding afslijpen. Nooit problemen gehad en icm rode koni's bleef de boel stevig doch comfortabel.

Overigens heeft mijn zoon een 230TE die voor een stukje lager ligt dan mijn T en sedan. Toch eens kijken of het aantal windingen van de veer minder is. In eerste instantie denk ik dat het dunste rubber er tussen is gezet.
Overigens wist ik niet dat de stabilisator van een T dikker was. Het valt me in ieder wel geval op dat de T minder over zijn lengte-as rolt dan mijn sedan. We hebben nog een donor T staan dus ik zal die ooit eens op de sedan monteren. Erg fijn als hij niet meer zo in de bochten "hangt". Ook ga ik nog wat speuren naar de "tussenveren". Ik dacht dat je alleen standaard-, taxi- en verlagingsveren had.

Ps. Je wielmaat is zo te zien 16"? Mooi gevulde wielkasten.
