Ik heb dus een nieuwe (1980) W123 gekocht, heel nette auto.
Enig probleem de km teller gaat niet correct,
40km/h is 50 km op GPS
90km/h is 120 op GPS

Hoe zou dit kunnen komen?
Vermoeden is dat er een andere tellerklok is geplaatst.

Wat voor banden zitten erop?

Als je grotere banden/velgen hebt, maakt je wiel minder omwentelingen per minuut dan met kleine wielen, dus lees je een langzamere snelheid af op de teller...

De teller klopt op zich wel voor je auto. In de teller zelf zit overigens voor de snelheid geen overbrenging. Als velgen + bandenmaat kloppen kun je ook nog eens naar het volgende kijken:

- Tellerklok uitbouwen en naald over het pinnetje heen halen, nu moet de naald stoppen bij een markeringsstreepje op de rand van de wijzerplaat.
- Zit er een differentieel onder met de juiste overbrenging? (de overbrenging schijnt ergens op de buitenkant te staan)

Is het niet zo dat er altijd wel een afwijking is op je km teller? Is toch gewoon analoge techniek, met de daarbij horende marges?. GPS was er toen nog niet echt...

Een teller mag alleen een hogere snelheid aangeven dan de werkelijke. Maar een afwijking van meer dan 25% is echt goed fout, zeker als het een lagere snelheid is.

het lijkt mij dat een orginele teller van een 250 meer hoort aan te geven als eindstand 200km/pu.
ik weet het niet zeker maar lijkt mij te weinig.

De snelheidsmeter in de 250 gaat tot 200km/h. Da's ook meer dan genoeg met een topsnelheid van zo'n 180km/h. Mijn 250 heeft een afwijking van zo'n 10%.

De veer op de snelheidsmeter en de tandwieloverbrenging voor de afstand zijn afgestemd en ge-ijkt op de overbrengingsverhouding van het diff. Dit is een snelheidsmeter van een handgeschakelde 250. Correctie door de naald te verzetten heeft geen zin. Dan heeft ie (nog steeds) een (te) grote afwijking of bij een lage of bij een hoge snelheid. En dan nog blijft ook de dag- en kilometerteller 25% te weinig registreren.

Snelheidsmeter van een handgeschakelde 250? Zou zomaar kunnen, maar die is exact hetzelfde als van een automaat . De snelheid wordt gemeten aan de uitgaande as van de versnellingsbak. Differentieel-overbrenging is bij handbak en automaat hetzelfde. Daarentegen zal inderdaad het verzetten van de naald ook niet de beste oplossing zijn.

Ik denk maar eens een klok te zoeken uit een 250 automaat en te testen

Banden zijn de goede maat 195/70/R14

In 1985 is MB overgestapt op diff's met 2.88 ratio. Als je snelheidsmeter vervangen is door een exemplaar dat bij een dergelijke overbrenging hoort, verklaard dat de 20-25% afwijking

Kan iemand hier met een 250 automaat van 1980 eens de nummer door geven die op de snelheidsmeter staat onderaan?

Of kan ik ergens aan de hand van chassis nr het juiste onderdeel opzoeken?

Ik breng volgende maand (11e) een tellerbak mee, met te monteren en te vergelijken komen we er wel uit.

ik heb een 250 automaat van maart '83. Heb eens even gekeken en het nummer onderaan de Km-teller is : 123 542 10 57
Bij de /8 modellen stond er op de achterzijde van de teller een W-nummer op dacht ik. Dit had betrekking op het differentieel dat gemonteerd was. Weet niet of dat bij de 123 ook zo is. Misschien dat iemand op het forum daar een antwoord op kan geven.

bedankt voor de reactie, bij staat er 123 542 34 01 maar is van 1980.
Binnenkort gaan we een andere klok proberen met Hans hier van het forum.

Wachten wat deze test voort brengt.

probleem is opgelost blijkbaar had de oude km teller een verkeerde K waarde.

Met een donor tellerbak van Hans hier is het probleem opgelost.
