Ja dan heb je inderdaad professioneel spul. Ik ken die merken Spies Hecker, Glasurit etc maar die richten zich echt op de professionele markt en zijn doorgaans alleen verkrijgbaar in grootverpakkingen met eveneens grote prijskaartjes.. Niet voor de hobbyist die een stukje aan zijn auto wil bijwerken helaas..

Zo deze week weer wat verder gekomen. Linker kant uitgelijnd en doorgelast. Het zal nog niet 100% zijn, maar een beetje bijbuigen gaat zo ook wel, als het maar niet teveel scheelt. De binnenrand moet nu helemaal gladgemaakt worden, want dat zie je straks weer. Buitenkant mag iets grover, want daar komt toch een kitlaag overheen. Twee originele gebruikte schermen had ik al liggen. Beide eerste montage, dus perfecte pasvorm. Een is helemaal roestvrij, de ander een klein plekje aan de voorkant onder, maar dit is geen probleem. De antenne zat bij mijn auto voor, wat niet hoort en aangezien het nieuwe scherm geen gat heeft, verhuist deze naar achteren en meteen maar elektrisch.

Hallo Max,

Je verslag blijkt een onuitputtelijke bron van nuttige informatie.. Zou je, zodra je daarmee aan de slag gaat natuurlijk, een paar duidelijke foto's willen posten van de wijze waarop de antenne wordt bevestigd in kofferruimte? Ik heb zelf ook een auta 6000 antenne hier nog in de doos liggen met bevestigingsbeugel maar op de een of andere manier lukt het me niet deze uitgelijnd te krijgen met het gat waar hij doorheen moet (linksachter). Ik vraag me dus af of ik iets verkeerd doe of dat ik toch onderdelen mis, of dat de beugel die ik heb misschien anders is dan bij de 0,5 serie..

Hoi Ruud,

Tegen de tijd dat we zover zijn, zal ik dat hier beschrijven. Eerst de voorkant maar afmaken

Er is geen onderscheid tussen de beugels voor een serie 0,5 of later.

Er zit wel onderscheid in de antenne zelf. Je moet wel de juiste hebben voor de W123. Er is verschil in de lengte van de telescooppijp of kop, waardoor uitlijnen niet lukt. Die van een W126 is bijvoorbeeld aanzienlijk langer. Laat staan als je er bijvoorbeeld een voor een BMW of Audi etc. hebt. Op de doos van de antenne of de antenne zelf staat een typespecificatie. AUTA 6000 EL of U en dan (x) xxx, bijvoorbeeld 260 of F 459. Als je dat nummer hebt, kan ik zo voor je zien of je de goede hebt.

De hele linker kant staat inmiddels in de epoxy grondlaag. De spuiter schuurt het wel weer af, maar de linkerkant is nu echt klaar, op de paravan na dan. Daarnaast heb ik de aluminiumdelen laten natstralen. Echt alsof ze nieuw zijn. We willen voor het bedrijf nu ook maar zo'n machine aanschaffen. Werkt echt bijzonder mooi. Grote voordeel van natstralen is dat het aluminium dichtgeslagen wordt door het water, waardoor het veel minder gevoelig is voor oxidatie dan bij droogstralen.

Wow, mooi hoor.

Ik heb net deze delen met een kwast en terpentine in een bak ontvet en daarna met een messing borstel opgekuisd...erg veel en vies werk en uiteindelijk redelijk resultaat.

Goed spul werkt erg fijner, dat is zeker :handgestures-thumbup:

Ik heb even gekeken; de antenne is als volgt genummerd op de behuizing: Auta 6000u 465 werknummer:232536.

Nu ben ik wel benieuwd of die inderdaad geschikt is voor de W123...

465 is W123, dus dat zou moeten kloppen, tenzij ermee gerommeld is. Heb je wel de juiste beugel erbij? Daar zijn ook nog verschillen in.

Na maanden van andere prioriteiten, eindelijk weer wat tijd gehad om verder te werken aan de 230. De rechter kant mocht er nu ook aan geloven en de voorfront is helemaal kaal gefreesd. Ook aan de rechter kant zat tussen het verbindingsdeel en de scharnierbak roest. Zoals bij elke W123. Er zal een nieuw stukje in moeten vrees ik.

Nee die is niet helemaal vernieuwd, zou ook niet kunnen want serie 0,5 is anders. Links is helemaal kaal gehaald en ook deels nieuwe stukken ingelast (rechts is vrij goed in vergelijking tot hoe links was), maar staat inmiddels in een tijdelijke laag tweecomponenten epoxy, zodat het niet weer roest als wij rechts bezig zijn. Het werk aan de linker kant staat in dit topic ook deels beschreven. Links moet straks weer deels kaal geschuurd worden, want er moeten nog enkele verstevigingen op hun plek gelast worden. Voorlopig nog niet klaar dus.

Vandaag weer in de weer geweest. Ik heb twee donorstukken klaargemaakt om uitgesneden te worden en toch ook maar preventief de versterkingen op de rechter wielkast losgehaald. We gaan nu zo ver, dan pakken we de roest tussen de naden hier ook maar aan. Mijn vader heeft ondertussen de zaag er weer ingezet en het gebied rond de afwatering heeft zijn beste tijd wel gehad.

De donorstukken zijn niet perfect, maar we kunnen in ieder geval genoeg hieruit snijden om het werk flink makkelijker te maken, al die vormen er inkloppen valt niet mee. Een klein stukje aan de zijkant nog aanhelen is dan makkelijker.

Echt mooi werk. Prachtig om te volgen.

Zouden de eerste bouwjaren nu toch roestgevoeliger zijn dan de latere? (en zo ook de latere W115 bouwjaren?)
Er werd wel gesproken over een periode met slechter staal. Ik had echt nioet verwacht dat jouw 230 op zoveel plekken toch roest zou hebben. Er is ooit zeker mee door het zout gereden dan?

Het wordt in elk geval weer prachtig!!

Of het plaatwerkverhaal klopt weet ik niet. Lijkt mij meer een mythe dat dit zo zou zijn.

Dat de vroege W123's slechter behandeld waren tegen roest is wel zo. Bij mijn auto is bijna geen enkele lasnaad met kit afgedicht, waar ze dat later wel deden en er zit bijzonder weinig verf in de motorruimte. Veel van de aanroesting komt gewoon omdat de verflaag veel te dun was. Daarnaast zijn ze natuurlijk ook een stuk ouder dan de laatste generatie.

Heel eerlijk hebben bijna alle W123's op de plekken die je hier ziet roest. Het zootje werd in elkaar gelast, maar behalve een klein beetje grondverf zat er niks tussen die naden. Bij elke W123 waar je dit zo uit elkaar haalt, vind je roest. Niemand is alleen zo gek het zo aan te pakken

. Wij gaan natuurlijk echt voor 100% en niet minder. De meeste worden natuurlijk gewoon dichtgesmeerd en klaar.

Die van mij is nog niet eens zo heel slecht hoor, anders waren we er niet aan begonnen. Ik zie vaak genoeg veel slechtere, die meestal van een later bouwjaar zijn. Voordeel van mijn auto is dat alles nog origineel is, dus niet verkloot. De bodem en achterkant zijn hard, dus het is echt die voorkant waar het werk zit. Als dat eenmaal klaar is, gaat het snel.
